🗑️ BinBuddy — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Summary BinBuddy collects no personal data, has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Your postcode and house number are used once per lookup to fetch your bin collection dates, and are not stored on our servers.

What the app stores on your device

Your chosen council, postcode, house number, collection schedule, and reminder preferences are stored locally on your device only. Deleting the app deletes this data.

What is sent to our server

When you set up the app or refresh your schedule, your council name, postcode, and house number are sent to the BinBuddy lookup service solely to retrieve your collection dates from your local authority's public bin-day service. This information is processed transiently and is not stored, sold, or shared. Standard web-server logs (IP address, timestamp) may be retained briefly for security and are then deleted.

What we do NOT do

Notifications

Reminders use Apple's local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device. No push-notification server is involved.

Children

BinBuddy does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
